Kryssia Canales

Supervisor
Kryssia Canales was born and raised in El Salvador and started her journey with individuals with disabilities after graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Child Psychology from San Francisco State University back in 2019; and immediately fell in love with it. Soon after, with encouragement from her community and an eagerness to engage on a deeper level with her clients, Kryssia then pursued her Master’s degree in Behavior Analysis from National University in San Diego.
Kryssia is dedicated to teaching (students, clients, and staff alike) and believes learning should be meaningful and enjoyable. She believes each individual should be treated with compassion, dignity, and respect. She cares deeply about inclusion, communication, and ensuring that every person’s voice is heard. Her work is most fulfilling when she is building awareness, promoting independence, and helping others access the support they need. She especially enjoys teaching social skills and self-regulation skills, where she incorporates principles of ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy).
In the winter time, you can find Kryssia snowboarding down the mountains, in the summer time, hiking and camping with her dog Dante and year-round, she enjoys doing pottery. Kryssia is eager to continue learning from those same individuals she is committed to helping succeed.
